About Fireside Community Media
Where it all began
The Monkton Community Coffeehouse, a charitable nonprofit, was founded in 2007 by Pete Sutherland, Vermont’s balladeer, to serve as a catalyst to grow community.
Eighteen years later, the Coffeehouse is excited to announce the launch of Fireside Community Media, a new platform that will broadcast WVVT 94.7FM as well as digital streaming and podcasts on demand located in Bristol, Vermont.
Our Mission
WVVT’s Mission is to grow a grassroots community platform that connects, energizes and inspires the 5-town community through education, entertainment and action.
WVVT will also provide critical information services to the residents of the 5-towns by serving as a hub to share local news and emergency communications.
We aim to serve our uniquely rural geography by giving voice to our community’s stories, passions and concerns, and promoting a place-based culture of freedom, unity and responsibility.
Our Vision
It’s simple: let’s co-create the community we desire in this beautiful place we call home. This is about remembering who we really are - powerful creators of our world, a truth rooted deep in our hands, our hearts and our minds. The dream is to come home to ourselves, to each other, to the land and to all our relations. To make our community whole. It’s an inside job, no one can do this but us!

The original meaning of community is “A sharing of gifts”
We invite all members of the 5-town community to join us in sharing your gifts: on the air, behind the scenes, as a volunteer, or as a supporter.
